Chinatown DC - Hotel

The Project

The Chinatown Marriott Tribute Hotel is a new development in the heart of Washington, DC’s Chinatown. This $75 million project will feature a hotel, Chinese restaurant, Asian market, and other culturally inspired retail spaces. It is designed to honor the neighborhood’s heritage while bringing long-term economic impact to the area.

The Background

This project is the realization of a decades-long dream by the late Hamm Hong Moy, a WWII veteran and proud member of the Chinatown community. The Moy Family first envisioned a hotel at this location in the 1970s and have remained deeply involved in Chinatown ever since. Through their generous work supporting local businesses and cultural efforts, the Moys have helped keep the neighborhood strong, especially during hard times like the COVID-19 pandemic. This project builds on that legacy of ensuring Chinatown remains vibrant and a hub for Chinese culture.
